Affordable Rent
The Northcote Rental Housing Co-Operative is a member-managed community housing organization which provides affordable housing for people on moderate to low incomes. When vacancies arise we seek interested persons who are willing to become active, participating members.

Applicants will need to place an application with Common Equity Housing Limited and complete three training sessions.
Once a vacancy comes available, Northcote Rental Housing Co-operative will obtain a list of eligible tenant/members from Common Equity Housing Limited and will then contact people on the list to be invited for an interview. Northcote Rental Housing Cooperative will also run a training session for sucsessful applicants.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to become a Co-op member and to be housed in a Co-op property you must be able to meet both the Income and Asset Eligibility Criteria for public rental housing.
1) Income Eligibility Criteria
• Single or couple with one dependent child maximum income is a gross of amount per week.
• For each additional child under 13 years old add amount per week
• For each additional child aged 13 to 17 years add amount per week
• Please note that the Family Tax Benefit payments are not included in these figures.
2) Asset Eligibility Criteria
• The household asset eligibility limit is $30,000.
• A discretionary asset eligibility limit if $60,000 for households requiring major property modifications for disability requirement.
